Three Ways to Get Skins
Skins change how a tower looks. They do not change damage, range, or card kits. Retro Tower Defense currently feeds cosmetics from three pipes: limited events (including the Forsaken collab through September 4), summon reappearances when a Heroic returns to the banner, and the standing skin shop paid in Tix or Robux.
Event skins leave when the window closes. Shop skins such as Hyperlaser Rainglow (Rare, 2,000 Tix / 149 Robux) stay. Reappearance skins such as Tr0j4n 1x1x1x1, Ghosdeeri Dusekkar, and Mafia Jane Doe grant to players who already owned that Heroic when it came back.

Forsaken badge skins: Home Turf (three Classic wins) → Retro Defense Jane Doe. Clean Sweep (Normal, no modifiers, all event maps) → Hyperlaser Chance. Home Run (Hard on all event maps) → 4x4x4x4 for 1x1x1x1. Forest Mage Dusekkar is a Token shop row, not a badge.
The 1stBirthday code awards the Birthday 1x1x1x1 skin. Redeem it first among active codes; anniversary cosmetics tend to disable without a public timer. Codes are case-sensitive.
Older seasonal skins (Mossy, Lovedusekkar, Flustered Jane Doe, Headless Halloween, Snowman Christmas) are archived on event pages. If a code for those strings fails, it is expired—check the expired codes archive.
Shop and Trading
Spend Tix on shop skins only after Gunner, Tycoon, and collab Token rows are handled. A 2,000 Tix Hyperlaser cosmetic is a flex purchase, not progression.
Trading can move duplicate towers with skins attached depending on the current trade UI. Value the tower rarity first, then the limited tag. Collab badge skins will spike in trade talk after September 4 when they can no longer be earned.
