Tix is the only currency that funds summons, shop unlocks, and most event spends in Retro Tower Defense. A single pull costs 100 Tix; a ten-pull costs 1,000. Heroic units sit near a 0.31 percent rate, so every extra hundred Tix you bank before a banner session is real progress.
August 2026 stacks three sinks at once: Yorick Heroic banner copies, Gunner Epic shop purchases, and the Forsaken Collab shop that closes September 4. Players who farm Tix on purpose finish the collab skins and still have a ten-pull left. Players who only spend leftover match payouts stall on both.
This guide is the Tix route we recommend after the late-August code cleanup. Seasonal luck bundles such as MMMPIZZA and TRAFFIC have expired. The remaining codes still give a first-session bump, then the grind has to come from maps, Tycoon, and daily missions.
Codes That Still Pay Tix
Redeem codes from Inventory → gift icon before you start a farm session. Together the currency codes add about 650 Tix on a fresh account—enough for six single pulls or a partial ten-pull. They are case-sensitive and one-time. Copy-paste from the codes page; do not retype 1X1X1X1 or V3RT.
TRAITS+SECRETS, MMMPIZZA, TRADING, and TRAFFIC expired during the collab window. If a tracker still lists them, they will fail in-game. Hold RETRO and GULLIBLE revives for Forsaken Citadel Hard, not for casual Crossroads leaks.
Best Maps and Loadouts for Tix per Hour
Crossroads on Normal is still the cleanest Tix per minute for accounts without a Heroic. Clear times stay short, leak risk is low, and you can chain matches without a revive. Put Tycoon on a central tile so bonus Tix ticks every wave, then a cheap DPS such as Gunner or Minigunner on the long straights.
Once you can clear Hard without leaking, switch to Doomspire or Forsaken Rift. Hard payouts beat Normal, and Forsaken maps add Tokens on top of Tix until September 4. Do not farm Chaos Canyon or Forsaken Citadel for economy until your loadout includes Mage, Noli, or Doombringer—wipes erase the whole match payout.
Community Tix-grind videos that advertise 1,000+ Tix per match without Heroics were patched. Treat those numbers as outdated. A realistic solo target with Tycoon plus an Epic DPS is a few hundred Tix per comfortable clear, then dailies on top.
Tycoon, Dailies, and Boost Windows
Tycoon is the dedicated farm tower. Place it before wave one and keep it alive; a dead Tycoon pays nothing. Helper Bot in range of both Tycoon and your DPS is the standard economy core. Rocket slow is optional but keeps escorts in Gunner cones longer so clears stay leak-free.
Complete daily missions every login. They are the only Tix source that does not depend on clear speed. Stack them with Forsaken map dailies during the collab so you earn Tix and Tokens in the same hour.
If a Tix boost code or event buff is live, spend the hour on maps you already clear on autopilot. Do not learn a new Hard layout during a boost window. After September 4, leftover Forsaken Tokens convert back to Tix—spend Tokens on skins first, then let the rest convert.
What to Spend Tix On
Priority order for late August: (1) Forsaken shop skins you still need before the window closes, (2) a ten-pull on the Yorick banner if you lack a Heroic, (3) Gunner from the shop if you still lack a sustained Epic DPS, (4) Trait rerolls only after your main Heroic is locked.
Never summon in singles unless you are 100 Tix short of a ten-pull and about to log off. Never spend Tix on cosmetics that will still be in the shop next month while collab skins are still available.
